What kind of diet is this?

OK, so I decided that if I really want to drop the extra 10 (COUGH! COUGH! 15), I should probably consider following a more strict diet.  You know, Paleo or Gluten-free or the 5-2. Something like that.  And, of course!, adding exercise back into my daily routine.

The plan was to monitor what I was eating, so that I would get an idea of where to start.  I ended my first week of really just monitoring what I ate (no actual restrictions) by eating homemade deep-dish pizza with a glass of wine, followed up with plans for a cheesecake.  I’m not sure, but I suspect this might be why I need to lose 10 (15!) pounds.

So on the exercise front, I downloaded an app called 7-Minute Workout coach.  Turns out that is almost exactly twice as long as I had in me.  I couldn’t make it through the routine and had to call it.  That night I limped around and was seriously worried that I would be laid up the next day. Fortunately, I felt fine physically.  Emotionally…I was distraught.  I used to run 3-8 miles every day of the week and now I couldn’t make it 7 minutes.  Man, I have let myself go!

So today, on the backside of pizza and wine, I took one of my 3 dogs for run.  I started with my slowest dog, figuring he and I were likely better matched. He still killed me, but it was nice to be out again and moving my body.  Let’s see how long this lasts.
