This time of year forces me to get creative. The sheer amount and variety of things coming into season is so overwhelming. I get real tired, real fast of making the same things all the time. I love blackberry pie, but after a while, enough is enough. Come January, I will happily open a jar of blackberry pie filling and make me a steaming hot pie. But right now, I just needed a change of pace.
In my usual style, I picked a recipe that used about two cups of berries. Not much in the scheme of things. But the dessert was good anyway. These Blackberry Financiers from Bon Apettit also looked pretty.
