A couple weeks back, I had a crazy idea: veggie ice cream. Well, not like brocoli or anything, but something with a sweet profile. Carrots to be specific. So I juiced me some standard orange carrots and added it to a vanilla ice cream base. If you look closely, you can see the vanilla bean seeds.
The overall effect, for my first batch, wasn’t what I had hoped for. I really wanted this baby to be orange. I know that I will have to make more juice and reduce it for the next round, but I wanted to share it with you anyway. Even though it isn’t perfect.
BTW, the “dirt” with this was so incredibly delicious that I nearly licked the plate!
1 tsp. ground coffee
2 tsp. sugar
2 tsp. flour
1 tsp. cocoa powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. finely ground chocolate
~2 T. melted butter
Mix dry ingredients together. Drizzle melted butter over just until moist and forms a crumble.
